Tixel® is an international patented technology which uses thermo-mechanical action technology (TMA) to accelerate new collagen production in skin giving you a smoother and radiant appearance. It’s a fractional resurfacing system with minimal pain and downtime as compared to other fractional skin treatments like CO2 laser. This non-laser fractional technology works through the highly efficient mechanism of ‘conduction’ wherein a matrix of titanium pins are heated to a temperature of 400°C which is transferred to deeper layers of skin.
Tixel® delivers results that are comparable or even better than intensive skin peels and laser resurfacing treatments, with much less downtime and pain.
Tixel® treatment is ideal for those patients who want to treat delicate skin areas such as periorbital and the neck region safely and effectively. It is suitable for all skin types and it’s a short lunchtime procedure with minimal downtime. The added benefit is that it continues to deliver results that improve over time and can last for several years (as it is your own collagen that produces the effects).
Tixel® uses natural heat directly to the skin and the whole face treatment usually takes around 20-30 minutes. Treatment is radiation-free, and there is no smoke, bleeding or skin charring. Anesthetic cream may not be required at low-medium settings as treatment is comfortable with minimal pain. In higher ablative modes, the anesthetic cream can be applied for 30 minutes beforehand if required.
Sessions Required: For optimum results, we recommend a course of 4-6 sessions spaced ideally 4-6 weeks apart.
This will depend on the depth level of your treatment. Your skin may feel a little warm and sensitive for a while. One can experience mild redness and some swelling for 24-72 hours post treatment. For the Full and Medium Ablative treatments, the skin can show redness for a couple of days and some small brown crusts may form which shed off in 7-10 days.
One must exercise strict sun protection after the procedure. We advise use of protective clothing and broad spectrum sunscreens after the procedure. One must not scratch or pick on the crusts if they are present after the treatment. Soap free cleansers and hydrating moisturisers are also advised for skin healing. Any active skin care ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids, topical vitamin C and retinols are strictly prohibited for 7 days post treatment.
